Apple’s all-in one iMac now embeds new enhancements

The new Apple iMac houses quad-core Intel Core i5 processors with an option for users to smoothly select Core i7 processors up to 3.4GHz. These processors come with an incorporated memory controller for superior responsiveness and a new media engine for improved video encoding and decoding. The unit also flaunts AMD Radon HD graphics processors.

The 21.5-inch Apple iMac includes a single port while the 27-inch unit features two ports. With two bi-directional channels with transfer speeds of about 10Gbps each, Thunderbolt technology is able of rendering PCI Express directly to external high-performance peripherals like RAID arrays, and can lend support to FireWire and USB devices, and Gigabit Ethernet networks through adapters. This technology is similar in temperament with Display Port for high-resolution displays and functions expertly with existing adapters for HDMI, DVI and VGA displays.

Besides, iMac comes equipped with a Face Time HD camera and Apple’s Face Time software for sharp, widescreen video calling. This camera supports HD video calls between several FaceTime HD-enabled Macs and standard resolution calls with the iPad 2, iPhone 4, current generation iPod touch and other Intel-based Macs. Intended with its signature aluminum and glass design, the iMac features IPS LED-backlit high-resolution display, SD card slot and Apple’s Magic Mouse or Magic Track pad.

The iMac fulfills Energy Start 5.2 requirements and attains EPEAT Gold rating. The donations boast of Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system and iLife. Additionally, configure-to-order options include Intel Core i7 processors up to 3.4GHz, extra hard drive capacity up to 2TB, 256GB SSD, additional DDR3 memory and Apple Care Protection Plan.

The Apple iMac can be picked up via the Apple Store, Apple’s retail stores and Apple authorized resellers.
