Years of drug abuse have come back to haunt Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.
The 38-year-old socialite’s nose, straightened four years ago in a painful £6,000 operation, was looking swollen and dented once again.
She was pictured outside her home in West London three weeks after she appeared in public looking gaunt and skinny, with bulging veins in her arms.

glThe former It Girl finally conquered a £250-a-day, six-year cocaine habit in 1999 after several spells in rehabilitation clinics.
However, it left her nose on the brink of collapse, having destroyed her septum – the wall of cartilage between the nostrils.
She initially tried Botox injections to repair the damage but after failing to see an improvement, resorted to surgery at a London clinic in 2006. During the three-hour procedure, cartilage was taken from her right ear and inserted into the septum.

Talking about the devastating effects of her addiction, she once said: ‘My cartilage is gone. I just have fresh air.’

She also revealed how her habit almost brought her to the brink of death. ‘I was a dead woman walking. I needed help, or I knew I was going to die.’
After working as a presenter, model and actress, Miss Palmer-Tomkinson has reinvented herself as an author.

Her spokesman declined to comment on her appearance last night, but a leading plastic surgeon said the state of her nose seemed to be the result of poor surgery.
Dr Roberto Viel, from the London Centre for Aesthetic Surgery, told the Daily Mail: ‘Tara has had rhinoplasty to correct the septum and the tip of the nose.
‘In my opinion, the result has left her looking disfigured. The nostrils are too small and it looks as if there is too big an implant in the septum position.’
Miss Palmer-Tomkinson’s plight is similar to that of EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook, whose seven-year cocaine addiction wore away the septum, eventually forcing her to have reconstructive surgery.
