There wasn't a Manolo, or a cosmo in sight as Sarah Jessica Parker played her favourite role of mum in New York City this morning.
The Sex and the City star was as far from glamorous Carrie Bradshaw as you can imagine as she walked her son, James Wilkie to his first day back at school.
Parker was dressed colourfully in a lilac T-shirt and red skinny jeans, paired with a distinct Carrie no-no.... a pair of black ballet flats

James, who turns ten in October is nearly as tall as his 45-year-old mother, and is looking very grown up.
The little boy pulled a number of faces as he walked to school, and at one point he seemed very unimpressed with his mum talking to a fan in the street - putting his hands over his ears and grimacing.
James became a big brother for the first time last year after a surrogate gave birth to twins whom Parker and her husband Matthew Broderick named Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge.
