2-25-2010 Deicing in 120+ Mph Wind Gusts

This video shows observer Brian Clark, with the help of fellow observers Ryan Knapp and Mike Finnegan, deicing the Observatory's anemometer in the top of the tower. Sustained wind speeds at the time the video was shot were exceeding 100 mph with wind gusts to about 125 mph. The winds are blowing from the East, a rather unusual direction for winds on Mount Washington and not a wind direction that the building was designed for. Thanks to our intern Nick Lovejoy for shooting the footage.
